Here are the different industries or forms of knowledge that I have found within International Law:

~Public International Law

~Supranational Law

In the vast and interconnected tapestry of global affairs, where nations engage in diplomacy, trade, and cooperation, there exists the complex and overarching concept known as International Law. Envision a legal framework designed to govern the interactions between sovereign states, international organizations, and individuals across national boundaries. This is the realm of International Law, where principles and treaties shape the conduct of nations in the pursuit of global order and cooperation.

At the heart of International Law lies the recognition that the international community is governed by a set of rules and norms that transcend individual jurisdictions. These rules are derived from a variety of sources, including treaties, customary practices, general principles of law, and the writings of legal scholars. International Law aims to foster peaceful coexistence, resolve conflicts, and address shared challenges that require collective action.

In the mystical dance of International Law, treaties are fundamental instruments that formalize agreements between states. Treaties can cover a wide range of subjects, from trade and environmental protection to human rights and arms control. International organizations, such as the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), play pivotal roles in the development and enforcement of International Law.

Legal doctrines such as the principle of state sovereignty and the notion of jus cogens become integral to the realm of International Law. State sovereignty emphasizes the independence and equality of states, while jus cogens refers to peremptory norms that are universally recognized and cannot be derogated by states. Examples of jus cogens norms include prohibitions against genocide, slavery, and torture.

In the realm of International Law, the peaceful settlement of disputes is prioritized. Diplomacy, negotiation, arbitration, and adjudication before international tribunals are mechanisms employed to resolve conflicts between states. The International Court of Justice, based in The Hague, serves as the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, adjudicating disputes and providing advisory opinions on legal questions referred by UN organs.

Human rights and humanitarian law form significant branches of International Law, aiming to protect the dignity and well-being of individuals globally. Treaties such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Geneva Conventions establish standards for the treatment of individuals during conflicts and in peacetime.

In the age of globalization, International Law adapts to address new challenges, including cybercrime, climate change, and transnational terrorism. International legal frameworks seek to provide responses to issues that transcend national borders, recognizing the interconnectedness of the global community.

International Law, in its essence, is a guardian of global order—a legal structure that seeks to promote cooperation, resolve conflicts, and protect the shared interests of humanity. It reflects the recognition that the actions of one state can have implications for others, necessitating a system of rules and norms that govern the conduct of nations on the international stage.

As the world continues to evolve, International Law remains a dynamic force, adapting to the shifting dynamics of geopolitics, technology, and human interaction. It stands as a testament to the aspiration for a world where nations collaborate and respect shared principles in the pursuit of peace, justice, and the well-being of all people.
